In winter, both at Abetone and in the surroundings, you can put on snowshoes. With this particular “means” it is possible to arrive in uncontaminated places<\/strong>. Excursions take place mainly along the paths that cross the territory and along the tracks for cross-country skiing, but there are endless possibilities. There are routes of varying length and difficulty<\/strong>, which intersect on snowy slopes, in the woods, on the slopes or at the bottom of the valley, beaten or still covered with fresh snow.<\/p>\n

All snowshoe trails in the snow are very scenic and allow you to appreciate the nature and the silence of the woods of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
\nYou walk through forests of beech and frozen fir trees to natural panoramic viewpoints from which you can admire a breathtaking panorama<\/strong>: from Monte Cimone to Monte Libro Aperto, from Corno alle Scale to Monte Gennaio.<\/p>\n

It is recommended:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • be equipped with own equipment or to be rented on site and appropriate clothing<\/li>\n
  • evaluate the weather and snow conditions before leaving<\/li>\n
  • communicate to other people the place of destination<\/li>\n
  • rely on a local guide who knows the route<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Some paths<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • Ring of Maiori: <\/strong>travel time 2 hours, non-demanding walk that starts from the square of Abetone and reaches the slopes of Mount Libro Aperto.<\/li>\n
    • Abetone \u2013 Verginetta \u2013 Boscolungo<\/strong>: travel time 2 hours and 30 minutes, non-binding walk through the woods of Mount Maiori.<\/li>\n
    • Ring of the Doni: <\/strong>travel time 1 hour and 30 minutes, easy walk around the village of Abetone.<\/li>\n
